High Blood Cholesterol

Your blood contains a waxy material called cholesterol. It would help if you had cholesterol to produce healthy cells in your body, but excessive amounts may raise the chances of cardiovascular disease. You may form fatty cholesterol deposits in vessels. Your arteries will eventually get obstructed by these deposits, making it harder to flow blood. A clot may develop when these deposits abruptly break apart, resulting in a heart attack or stroke. Even if you have high cholesterol because of a genetic predisposition, it's a disease that may be prevented and treated. High cholesterol may be lowered with a good diet, frequent exercise, and even medication. Inactivity, obesity, and a poor diet lead to high levels of dangerous cholesterol and triglycerides. To avoid such complications healthy diet and physical activity must be maintained.
